Expanding on the communication theme of previous work, the building's driver is establishing a community centre of media providing a platform for local people of all ages to engage with one another.
To support this, the building provides career support services, allowing ex-industrial workers in the area to gain experience and tuition in a new, modern industry.
As well as these key drivers, the building seeks to sympathise with subversive communities of pirate media broadcasters, providing sheltered service areas and utility 'hook-up' points to maximise the effectiveness of the building within the community.
The building features a live performance space that opens out on a sunken ampitheatre, as well as a tv studio and green room. In addition, there are computer studios as well as radio suites providing a variety of media outlets in to the community.
